Visual novels are my favourite genre of games! My favourite is Umineko no Naku Koro Ni (though the anime adaptation is bad <_< ) and Danganronpa series.

Does any of you read VNs too? There are a lot of types of VNs, like eroge, otome and BL, so let us all know what you normally read too! :)

Hmm.... VNs..... somehow, seeing as VNs are the only topic about games on this forums feels weird ;P (or at least I didn't find any other).
I only played few, and didnt even finish 1, because using some weird program to translate it while playing didn't work for menus.....
The first one I played was Snow Drop, it was ok I guess...... next was X-change, I was getting them from a male friend so yeah, the arts were ok and story wasn't bad, tho I'd prefer an opposite version ;P. Next was.... Utawarerumono I think.... It easily became my favourite, 'cos it seems I prefer ones with RPG elements ^^. Next was my unfinished Angel's Feather, I still get depressed when I see that noone made translating patch for it ;/. I still can get Tsukihime from friend ( I wonder if he has FSN too).
And as for ones I own myself..... I have 2, but didn't play them yet ^^;. Both are for PSP, one if Hokuouki and the other is Sweet Fuse ^^. More such games should get out in english ^^; Best in PAL and for some console I own ;x.

Woot! Tsukihime series and Fate Stay/Night series. Type moon stuff is right up my alley (back alley XD) once they get translated though. ^^l
Tsukihime was my first introduction to visual novels. Although I don't get a lot of time to play many, I have a handful that I've played or am currently still in progress.
MuvLuv series ( I've finally cleared extra now onto the main mecha story). Through many friend's recommendation and the love for mecha, its really does have a profound story and memorable characters. Onces you get through the romantic comedy, you really go under an emotionall trip with the main character.
I've played a few yaoi and otome visual novels (Anniversary no Kuni no Alice, Second Reproduction, Kukichi Megane, etc.). But the more memorable ones are the ones where the romance theme is secondary.

As far as VN's I am a new comer to them, but I have purchased quite a few of them this year mostly on the ps vita, probably the sole purpose for me owning the console to begin with. I have so fare purchased and played most of Amnesia memories, I have Code realize: guardians of rebirth ( beautiful art), Amnesia later x crowd, Norn9, Diabolic lovers haunted dark bridal, Diabolic lovers, more blood, Diabolic lovers veranda carnival, Binary star, New edition heart of Alice, and a few more on the way imported directly from japan. I am working on learning Japanese in order to read and also to play games, and anime alike. Most were purchased on super of the moment because I wanted to try it out. :)
I also have a few others on steam, which i forgot to mention, but the names elude me. I remember playing Dandelion, and what I must remember I think as well as others.

I'm just starting to get into VNs. My favorite so far is To The Moon by Free Bird Games. It's not your traditional VN and it has some game elements, but the story is so good!

I've read Tsukihime, Fate/Stay Night and Fate/Hollow Ataraxia but now I don't have much time so I usually read manga and watch anime.

Are these translated/available in NA? Or in Japanese. Is there still the weird thing where the games are not compatible with NA consoles? Or is that obsolete?

I have never played one before. Where do you find them? Do they sell any in English for PC? If anyone could recommend some good ones that are in English (and okay for me to play in the same room as the kids, ahaha) that would be great.

I play them but not as much. My favorite would be Hakuouki. I first saw the anime and became interested in the game. I really love the art, so pretty. And the story is great too.

I just brought Amnesia Memories on my PS Viya. Also planning to buy Code Realize in the future.

I have also played some BL titles. :D

Tsukihime!!!!

Love it, though, I've only finished Arcrueid's route (both true and good endings) before stopping mid way into Ciel's. Also read the manga (which was great btw) and the anime (which stunk).

I really want to play Fate/Hollow Ataraxia but my computer wont play it. I can change the location to japan which would allow me to play most vns but considering my computer uses an illegal copy of windows, I can't download the language pack for Japanese/asian codecs. Though, I use XP still and it would make that impossible anyway lol.

Katawa Shoujo is pretty good from what my friends have told me, I actually had forgotten about until I read it here. Looks like I'll have to remember to add that to my list of VNs to play. Other than that I've played Fruit of Grisaia, Hoshizora no Memoria, Steins;Gate, and soon G-Senjou Maou and the Grisaia spin-offs/sequels. Definitely enjoy ready VNs but haven't had much time to use on them recently.
