I've heard some interesting things about Human Centipede, so I'm scared, aaahhhh

The Loved Ones was interesting. Not outstanding, but certainly disturbing.

Not a movie per se, but I intend to see the TV series (with 2season), MASTERS OF HORROR.

I decided to listen to a podcast called PODTRASH - as you can guess by the name, it talks about horror/trash movies & series. Thoug I am not gonna watch 99% of what they comment, I laugh a lot with the comments about ketchup/chocolate blood spurting on the screen.

However, the program abou this one got me particular interest (since it has episodes directed by Dario Argento / John Carpenter / etc).

I watched a Japanese horror movie recently called "The Complex". It was pretty interesting. Especially if you're into typical Japanese Horror movies.

The only horror movie I can remember seeing recently is The Babadook. It's a pretty interesting movie, the monster is purposely made to look kind of like a B-Movie monster though. That said most of the horror comes from watching the relationship between the main character and her son slowly get worse and worse as they kind of feed the worst parts of each other.

Hmm, from horror movies I somehow like the old Japanese ones most, like Dark Water, Ring or Ju-On.
I don't really follow that genre specially, but when I watched The Saw, it actually made me laugh..... it's like Americans think that everything that's dark and bloody is a good horror movie ;x. Tho when I was little I remember watching Tremors with a friend, and we got so spooked that we walked on furniture not wanting to stand on ground ;P.
But then lately it seems like I get spooked more from games then movies..... lately I almost fell from chair when giant spider showed up when I was surveying one area in Xenoblade... I ran away as fast as I could ;P.
I don't know that many horror movies, especially from newer ones... or maybe they just don't get translated and shown here much ^^;.

The Awakening was a movie that freaked me out quite a bit, although it might be more thriller than horror, despite the ghost aspect.

Horror movies just aren't the same anymore. Maybe I'm just older now? Whenever I watch a "horror" movie, I just find them all funny and ridiculous. Nothing gives me a scare like Freddy Kruger, Child's Play, or Friday the 13th did. Hmmmm...those are old movies, so I must be old....

I recommend the Grudge Series, The Orphan, The Conjuring and Mama
they're mainly suspense but still scary.
Also The Silence of the Lambs is good- its kind of like a crime solving horror/suspense.

I love horror movies, but none scares me. The only one I like and made me creep out a bit was The Others 2001 with Nicole Kidman. The movie made me see spirits in a different way and the creepy part was the pictures of the deceased (The book of the dead).
