I feel very jealous of anyone that can speak more than three languages fluently.

My native tongue is Spanish, but I am fluent in English.
I studied French for a year, but decided to skip the second year in uni because I fear speaking it. D:

Wow... there's so many people whose first language ISN'T english (you guys are amazing)
1st: English (lucky me since I suck too badly at languages to learn it if I didn't know it already)
2nd: Korean (fluent speaker (whee! no accent) but crappy writing... pretty slow at reading. vocab level's also kind of sucky)
3rd: Japanese (let's... not talk about how much I fail at it)
4th: umm.... someday.... On the other hand, I can say hi in a whole bunch of languages XD

Just English. I took a lot of spanish over the years, but I still can't really use it; I can barely understand when spanish speakers come in to Subway and I can't ask them anything...That being said, I have english down to a T, especially in it's written form...

I speak German (Good thing to, since I live in Germany. c_c) and English, both sort of fluently. I do understand Latin, thanks to some very horrible years in High School, and when I was little I also understood Vietnamese a little, though that knowledge is completely gone by now. I'd love to learn some Korean and Japanese, though I wouldn't know where to start. - I'm amazed how almost everyone here speaks at least three languages! :o

As far as actually holding conversations I only really know English, but I know enough Japanese to understand general conversation. Never took any classes or actually put any of it to practical use, so speaking, writing and reading are well behind. I actually took classes for Spanish, but haven't done anything with that since, so I'm beyond rusty. :P

My native language is Spanish, and a regional language from Spain too. And I've been learning English since school.

The other languages that I studied but I'm not that good now are German, French and Japanese.

Finally I studied Chinese for a year in my university, but I've almost completely forgoten U_U

I can speak English fluently and Korean to a lesser degree of fluency.
I don't speak it but I also "speak" American Sign Language.
I took 3 years of Spanish in high school, but I remember nothing :) You'd think I'd retain something after that long, but nope!

Not fluently.... which sucks lol

But i can 'speak' 3 'languages'. I can understand to some extent and reply back very minimally. Mainly cuz i didn't go to school for the other two 'languages' but technically they are the same. It's Chinese but different; canto and mandarin.

I mainly speak French, and then English (with mistakes here and there though).
I studied German at school and sadly forgot most of it.

They (Cantonese and Mandarin) aren't the same language. They're somewhat related but no more than say, Spanish and Italian. Maybe even less.
