I'm a new musical newbie! I just want to see how many fans on an anime forum have the same interests as me. Ahaha. :D

- What is/are your favorite/s?
- Which one/s have you seen? (Doesn't matter if live/DVD/whatever.)
- Recommendations?

Feel free to talk about any other topics you want to talk about regarding musicals!

I'll probably answer this sometime later.

Have a nice day!

I have seen the musical comedy 'Mamma Mia!'. If you like films of that sort, I'll recommend it. I Iiked it and also liked actors' versions of ABBA songs and listen to both covers and originals with pleasure.

I haven't watched 'The Phantom of the Opera' but I really enjoy some of the tunes, especially the theme song.

I've only seen Beauty and the Beast Broadway when they were on tour but I'm not really a fan of musicals as a whole. I like to see the Disney musicals mostly for the sentimentality factor. :)

I haven't seen to many, but I love Fiddler on the Roof (purely from the movie version) Hair (live), and Les Mis (live).

I am old school musical. Calamity Jane, White Christmas, Daddy Long Legs (also an anime), Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Singin' in the Rain, The Wizard of Oz, and the Sound of Music just to name a few.

Yessss the music to Jekyll and Hyde was incredible. Linda Eder has such an amazing voice. And omg tanz der vampire! I discovered that mudical because i loved Steve Barton as Raoul in the Phantom. I don't speak a lick of German, but his voice is amazing.

As for musicals, my favorite is Miss Saigon, les mis, and the Phantom of the opera. I'm more familiar with musicals from the 1990s and older; I haven't kept up with the newer stuff

I really like Hairspray (the movie and the musical that people sometimes do for theater productions)
But my alltime favorite was a Beauty and the Beast production I saw not too long ago!
