Well, why do you like it? Me? I love the plot itself and how much will Yona grow. Plus, will Yona see Hak as a lover? Most especially, I love Zeno so muuuuuuch. Kawaiiiii

I like it because it reminds me of Fushigi Yuugi a lot, if you havent seen or read that, definitely check it out, i think its a bit more serious than AnY but still has the whole "gather allies" reverse harem thing going for it.

I like it cause imo its rare for a fantasy shoujo heroine to not really fall into the damsel in distress archtype

I love the way the story turn into serious and dramatic situation, then into a funny one again and again xD
The plot is very fascinating, the continuous isn't always guessable! Iit's an important thing xD

The way it does that is actually what sets it apart for me, I thought it would be more like FY or Seirei no Moribito until it did all the humor.

Either way would have been great i love fantasy, but the extra comedy, and how it goes back and forth, made it way more fun and less tragic and serious.

I love the story so much because of Yona's character. She started out pretty oblivious to the strife of the common people, but she quickly learns she wants to help them. That's great, except she doesn't have any power or skills to do that immediately.

So I like the story of her learning what her limitations are and then figuring out how to make herself better and grow into the person she wants to be. She doesn't have all the right answers, but she's willing to learn and try.

Its plot is absolutely amazing. Especially in terms of Yona's character development. You get so invested in each of the characters own stories and it draws you in. I really appreciate the art as well, which is just lovely. Not to mention how hot Hak is. It's a quintessential coming of age fantasy packed with great development, and I just appreciate it for what it is :D

I stumbled around the book store and found this series. At first I did not follow it, though I've read Kusanagi-sensei's previous works (like NG Life, omg this is total hilarious and Mugen Spiral).
I started to read it when it has reached about 50 chapters and I found myself addicted to this series. The plot is interesting and I always like stories when the main female character grew up from cant-do-anything kind of girl into some badass-with-kind-heart girl.
And there is Hak, of course. I just can't resist him.

As stated, the story, plot and characters.

But the thing I love the most is Yona. I love her character progression. What drew me into Akatsuki no Yona was the fact that she's a strong woman, one who is first shown to be weak and useless but steadily grows into someone strong, with a blazing hot will.

Especially during the Kumi-ji arc. That was probably my favorite moment in Yona. That blood chilling glare she gave him that stopped him cold and made him afraid to that moment where she delievers an arrow to his heart and looks badass while doing it.

Story's important; I like adventure-type and the heroine is the strong type as well. It's also the set in fantasy world which is nice. Plus, it's the same mangaka as NG Life LOL.

On the deep side, I love the character development of Yona and the topics that the mangaka deals with in the manga.
On the shallow side... Hey hot characters whats not to love~ lol :D

Yona's character progression is why this story has me enraptured. Though, I'm worried that she might be becoming more idealized. I feel like she could afford to make a few mistakes. Right now, her perfection is a little unbelievable.

Everyone's just so epic, I want to be them. I love dynamic characters and relationships formed between people. The fighting is also great.

I like that the story is kind of different from the main stream of mangas. It's not just about cool fighting scenes and stuff. The plot is very complex and the characters have much depth to seem and are unique in their own way - their characters are realistic! Furthermore, I like "historic" storys and legends and stuff. There is also a lot of relationship development - for me the relationships are often the most important, because a story without a deeper connection of characters does not really seem interesting to me. I like that there is humor, romance, action as well as tragic. Everything that is really a part of life. And I already loved NG Life and the art of that manga so reading another one which is just as great is wonderful!!!

I love the character development; watching the individual characters mature, and how they take the time to develop the surrounding characters. Its a romance with action, a wonderfully thought out story line. It is original in many ways, but also borrows better elements of other stories that I have read. The art, the personalities of the characters, the back story of each, the list goes on. :)

I originally started reading it because of the pretty boy cast, but I ended up becoming really attached to the plot, as well as the characters and their developments. I'm not actually much of a shoujo reader, the only other one I'm really into is Natsume Yuujinchou, but now it's definitely up there as one of my favourite manga. It has just the right mix of comedic and more serious moments, and the art is gorgeous. I also love seeing Yona grow as a character. It's nice having a female lead surrounded by men who doesn't constantly get held back by them.
