I usually read manga from my favorite mangaka. If it's a new mangaka, then the art will catch my eyes first. Then continue with genre and if scanlated.

I look for high fantasy or Sci-fi with romance of course but slice of life certainly has its ups and downs. Things like Overlord for example. Which I have re-watched almost 20 times. . .

I look at the art, then the summary, and escalation, if I like it enough, I will buy it when it comes out, in my area, if not I would buy it in the original form.

Summary and then art. Then plot. But I feel like art is probably more important.

for me im usually attracted to the art style/character design. If something catches my attention im likely to look into it to see what its about and then read it if its something im likely to enjoy

Art of the cover, art of the inside, and then the genre. There has to be some romance but no ecchi. I usually read one chapter or one volume before deciding if I am ready to commit. I also look at other's reviews if it is a longer series. Nothing worse than getting sucked into a series only to realize later that the ending is gonna such or it gets stupid.

The storyline to see if it's worth my time. And then the artwork.

I usually go by cover art and summary, and then sometimes I'll check a couple of pages and see if it's fairly interesting

Cover, summary, same as for most everyone else... I often also look at reader comments, because I find it helpful to steer clear if people are saying things like "hate where this is going" or "why did the author stop writing at such a crucial point?!"

Manga by an author I know I like are always a plus. It can be hard to go back in time to when their style was not as polished though.

I need a better strategy for finding new series. I get daunted trying to find new ones, so my list is pretty short right now!

I have had some success using the "random" button on Batoto. :P

summary and art. They go together. Wont have an interest in reading/watching anything that's not easy on the eyes even if the story is good

Besides if it's available- if it has a good art style and well-developed characters and plot, I'm usually all in.
